Dear Parents,
 
We have come to the end of another school year and I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to everyone for their support and dedication to Christ the King Catholic School. We are going to miss this year’s 8th grade class.  Thank you for this wonderful experience. 
 
Christ the King Inshore Fishing Tournament 
The 8th Annual Christ the King Inshore Fishing Tournament was a big success.  Thank you to everyone that came to enjoy a day of exciting activities for the entire family.          

Field Day
We had wonderful weather for field day and everyone had a great time.  I am grateful to Patty Etheridge, Katherine Barr, the Booster Club, PTO, and all who helped.   

Eighth Grade
Our eighth graders will be graduating tonight.   We are grateful to them for the service and leadership they gave during their years with us.  We have 19 families who will “graduate” from CKCS this year. We wish them God’s blessings as they begin their journey through high school.

The Sr. Maureen Nolan Scholarship Fund
I am grateful to all who have contributed to the Sr. Maureen Nolan Scholarship Fund, which was initiated by the Class of 2007.  Please help us by continuing to support this fund in the years ahead.

Paperless Billing
We are now sending electronic billing statements instead of mailing the statements.  This will include tuition, after school care and resource. 

Volunteer Hours
Thanks to all who volunteered this year:  263 hours in May and 2,889 hours for the year! 
 
Faculty Appreciation
Thank you to the Kindergarten parents who provided snacks for the faculty meeting this month and to the PTO for the delicious Teacher Appreciation luncheon.
 
Final Report Cards
All report cards for the 4 ^th quarter will be mailed to your home address on May 28.  If you have moved and have not updated your new address with the office, please do so immediately. 
 
Extended Day Care
The last day for Extended Day Care will be Thursday, May 26.   Extended Day Care will not be open on Friday, May 27. 

School Uniform
Full uniform must be worn through May 25.  On May 26 and 27 any official CTKCS shirt may be worn with jeans.   “Spirit Shirt Day” rules apply.  If in doubt, please refer to the Parent-Student Handbook.
 
School Bus Information
The last day for bus registration for students living in FAIRHOPE will be July 20.   Forms can be picked up at the St Lawrence office.  Priority will be given to St. Lawrence parish members.
 
Medication
Parents, remember you should pick up all medications from the Heath Room no later than 3:00 pm Thursday, May 26.  Medication not picked up will be discarded that afternoon.
 
Updated Immunization
If your child’s immunization needs to be updated, please be sure to take care of this in a timely manner in order to have valid certificate of immunization on file in the office by the first day of school, August 17.

Health Forms for 2016/2017
Remember to submit new health forms for your children next school year.  You will find the health form on our webpage at www.ctkcsdaphne.org.   Please take time to fill out this form for each of your children who will be attending CTKCS next year, and return the forms to our office in August prior to the start of school. 
 
Summer Reading List and Book & Supply List – 2016/2017
The Summer Reading List and Book & Supply List for Kindergarten through 8 ^th grade can be found on our web page at www.ctkcsdaphne.org.  Copies will be sent to local libraries and bookstores.   
 
Purchasing of Books
If you would like us to order textbooks for your children for the 2016/2017 school year, orders must be placed with Kathy Barr.  You may email her at:  kbarr@ctkcsdaphne.org.  If you do not order through our office, you must purchase books at the used book sale or on line. 
 
Updated Handbook
The handbook will be updated over the summer and changes will be noted in future Eblasts/Parent Meetings.
 
Summer Office Hours               
The office will remain open for the month of June, Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will be closed during the month of July.  Office will reopen on August 1.

9. Last day of school:  May 26, 2017 – 10:00 a.m. dismissal
