Scholastic Team Chess

The Mobile-Baldwin County Scholastic Chess League kicked off their new chess season in October. The League has been holding scholastic competitions for 46 years.

Twelve area schools are competing: Daphne High, Davidson, Alabama School of Math and Science, McGill Toolen, Fairhope High, Bayside Academy, UMS-Wright, Spanish Fort Elementary and Middle, Christ the King, Little Flower, and Causey Middle.

Over 140 players are participating in the League matches. Each team is composed of four players who alternate colors as white and black against the opposing team. Two games are played at each match with a Game/30 time control.

The League holds four matches during the season. The League director is Mr. Jonathan Ling, of Daphne High School.
