WANT TO PLAY CYO FALL SPORTS? FLAG FOOTBALL, TACKLE FOOTBALL, CHEERLEADING VOLLEYBALL, SOCCER SIGN UP BEGAN May 9th ... DON'T MISS OUT!! Flag Football Flag Football is open to K5-4th grade boys and girls. There will be a K5 team, 1st - 2nd grade team, and a 3rd - 4th grade team. K5 games are typically all played at the Lipscomb Complex in Mobile on the same weekday night every week. All other groups typically have games at Christ the King and at the Lipscomb Complex in Mobile. This could change, but that is the way it went in the past.
Tackle Football Tackle Football is open to boys in 5th - 6th grades. This is the only tackle football division offered in the CYO. The 7th and 8th grade boys will play for a St. Michael Middle School Team, which is completely separate from the CYO. They will be registered by St. Michael's. For questions regarding this team, please contact Paul Knapstein (
pknapstein@stmichaelchs.org), athletic director at St. Michael's.
Volleyball Volleyball is open to girls in grades 4th - 8th. In volleyball, each grade has their own team or teams depending on registration numbers. Games are usually at the CYO Hall in Mobile on weekdays, with the possibility of a few games at Christ the King.
Soccer Soccer is open to girls and boys in grades K5 - 8th grades. These teams can be coed depending on registration numbers. There is really no way to tell, until registration ends, if teams will be coed. Soccer will have the following divisions K5, 1st - 2nd, 3rd - 4th, 5th - 6th, and 7th - 8th. In most years there is a girls only 1st-2nd or 3rd-4th grade league. This depends on other CYO school registration numbers and ours at Christ the King.
Cheerleading Cheer is open to girls in grades K5 - 6th grade. Girls in grades 7th - 8th will need to contact Paul Knapstein (pknapstein@stmichaelchs.org), athletic director at St. Michael for more information.
Fall Sports Information 2021
Fall Sports Registration will be open starting May 9th. This Fall the CYO will offer flag football, tackle football, soccer, volleyball, and cheer. This registration process will end on July 29th. You must pay your balance to have your child added to a roster or have a jersey ordered! As you register your child, please read the information pertaining to that sport. You will find answers to common questions. Matt McDonald is always willing to answer questions, so please feel free to reach out. This seems early to be talking about sports next school year, but practice for these sports starts prior to the beginning of school. Also, it takes time for the CYO to work the schedules for four sports, and there are a few changes from years past. It is imperative that we get the kids signed up for the sports of their choice as soon as possible. You can register HERE. Please feel free to reach out to CTK Athletic Director Matt McDonald with questions
