Thank you to our CTKCS PTO for purchasing two new Promethean Boards for Mr. Rutkowski, 8th grade Algebra teacher, and Mrs. Hutson, Music and Jr. High Art teacher. The funding of these additions to their classroom was made possible through the PTO fundraisers, the Pumpkin Festival and The King's Supper and Silent Auction. These are a few examples of your fundraising dollars at work for our school with plans being discussed for the use of the proceeds to be implemented in the future from the 2016-17 events.

Mr. R. has enjoyed using different math programs available to teach our 8th grade Algebra students to supplement their textbook lesson. The Promethean Board provides his students with an interactive tool to enhance their Algebra lessons. Also, the capability to save lesson plans, and have the opportunity to review with his students using the Promethean Board has been an added benefit to his class. 

Mrs. Hutson has been able to use her Promethean Board for her Jr. High Art classes to have instant access to all the famous works of art and virtual tours of museums from all over the world. She is able to give students immediate examples of art styles and cultures, as well as often showing videos of the artists at work in their studios. Students can watch processes, learn different drawing and painting techniques, and the history of art, before creating their own art works.

In her music classes, Mrs. Hutson uses the Quaver's Music Curriculum, which is a totally online streaming curriculum......no books are necessary with the Promethean Board and Quaver's Interactive Music Program. She has access to videos for music and can show famous musicians' performances. All of her students have enjoyed expanding their fine arts lessons through the use of the Promethean Board.

Again, we thank our PTO...all parents, teachers, and staff who support these fundraisers by participating in the Pumpkin Festival, purchasing a raffle ticket, Festival food, and drinks, or by buying your ticket to The King's Supper, bidding on auction items, or supporting this event through a sponsorship.
